If you go through Austria and Slovenia go towards Maribor (in Slovenia) and then towards Zagreb. Instead of going to the centre of the city follow the first sign for Karlovac as soon as you see it. When you reach Karlovac, go towards Split. You will follow that sign for approximately 1h - 1:30h before you see the first sign for Zadar. There is a short highway and the tunnel of "St. Rok" (approximately 5 km) which will take you to the bridge "Maslenica". From there you simply follow the signs for Zadar and before entering Zadar there will be a left turn to Biograd. This road is better and faster than the second one.
Munchen (Germany) - Salzburg (Austria) - Graz (Austria) - Maribor (Slovenia) - Zagreb (Croatia) - Karlovac - Zadar (first direction Split and then direction Zadar) - Biograd na Moru.
You can come through Switzerland and Italy (Milan - Venice - Trieste - Slovenia) and then you go towards Rijeka (or Fiume on Italian traffic signs) and then along the coast towards Zadar (from Rijeka you follow the signs for Split) and we are just 30km south from Zadar. Entering Zadar take a left turn to Biograd. It is a nice road along the coast but it is long and winding.
Milan - Venice - Trieste - Fiume (Rijeka) - Zadar (direction Split) - Biograd na Moru.
